It’s Saturday, so here’s hoping you’re somewhere relaxing and that you’re able to sit back and enjoy the Harry Potter reread!
This episode was super fun to do, both because RoShawn is realizing how much gets laid out super early, and because knowing the backstories of some of these characters adds a whole new dimension to how you view their actions. We discuss redemption of the Dursleys and whether that was even possible, and the obstacles one faces when trying to forgive (or at least forget) abusive family.
Meanwhile, there is the awesomeness of revisiting opening chapters with entirely new context for the events that happened the night before the book begins. She now understands the significance of the owls flying by, Hagrid’s umbrella, and a dozen other little things that get dropped right away. I think this reread is going to be a lot of fun.
The song I used for the opening is called Black Magic by Yung Mavu, and you can find it here.
