Hey listeners! As usual, I’m going to include the link to buy the illustrated edition of The Sorcerer’s Stone here, and also I wanted to include a link where you can sign up for our newsletter, and also one where you can donate to our GoFundMe for the upcoming trip. Thanks to all of you for the support so far; RoShawn’s suffered a setback with her household income due to a job loss, so she’s going to need the help more than ever.
I’m in love with doing the rereads, if I’m honest, because the first book has so many silly problems that I didn’t feel I could fully address when we went through it the first time, for a couple reasons: 1) I wanted to keep things positive so that RoShawn wouldn’t be tempted to quit, 2) I couldn’t full describe the problems without getting into spoilers, and 3) Some of the things that seem like problems here get explained later or vice versa. So this reread is giving me an amazing opportunity to vent my frustrations in a way that I wasn’t able to before.
It might seem incredible, but after this there’s only one episode left of The Sorcerer’s Stone! I know, even cutting back the number of chapters we cover per episode it still happened really fast. This episode covers the saga of Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback, a plotline that I can’t help but hate and dread re-reading, and which laid the groundwork for me getting super frustrated with Hagrid. But thankfully in this episode we also get the trio’s journey through the obstacle course leading to the Sorcerer’s Stone, so that’s something at least.
Thanks again so much to all of you for listening, and I will be on vacation next week so don’t miss me too much! <3
