Justified, S04E09- Hatchet Tour

Alrighty, listeners! I’m shocked and appalled at how little I saw this coming, even moreso now that Alan tells me how I almost guessed who Drew Thompson was and he just steered me right past it. Being the unspoiled one is weird, y’all!
I love this revelation though, because there really isn’t anyone that I would have given a shit about except for Shelby. I can’t imagine anyone that would have surprised me more, either, short of someone like Art (how awesome would that have been, huh?). I think there are a lot of moments in this episode that still remain to be explained, and some that I’m not convinced have an explaination because aven Alan wasn’t sure about them when I asked. I would love some clarification on those if you guys have ideas!
There’s some really interesting stuff happening when it comes to Colt, too, and Alan and I aren’t really in agreement on him as a character and the way he’s been playing all of this. I’m into it, but Alan thinks he’s been kind of one-note this entire time. I just kind of hope he doesn’t get killed off because I think he has a lot of potential and could be put to good use if he were motivated in the right way.
I really enjoyed this episode, and I hope you enjoy listening!

  1. Just wanted to add some clarification regarding the link between Ava setting off the alarm while house hunting and Boyd’s epiphany about solving Drew Thompson’s identity. The payoff comes when Boyd and Ava lure Judge Executive Arnold to Ellen May’s trailer under the pretext of some strange- what they really want is to interrogate Arnold about the security systems he used to install. I think. Boyd must’ve figured Arnold might be able to shed some light on the mystery, but he was interrupted by Ava with shocker of Ellen May’s sudden return from the dead. Love the podcast!
