Hey there, Patrons! I’m excited to finally be able to share this episode since it’s been almost a week since I watched it. This was a super-intense, unexpected episode of television and I’m totally down with it.
As I mention on the podcast, I got a chance to read some reviews on it and was surprised that more people didn’t like it, but I think they might be looking for something different than what this show has promised all along. While we certainly go off into the land of the wild and otherworldly in this episode, we’ve been toying around with that a lot already, haven’t we? I feel like things are just leading toward their logical conclusion.
Anyway, this is a moment where there is a lot left up to interpretation. How much of this is real, and how much is just inside Kevin’s head? And even if it’s just inside his head, does that really mean it’s not real? I mean, it’s almost silly to suggest that this isn’t real, because the dude does basically come back from the dead at the end of the episode, so something fuckin happened. I don’t know what to make of it though. Why was this so crucial that Virgil was willing to kill himself to help?
I loved this. Can’t wait for next week.
